HARRIS COMPUTER Systems has introduced the first real-time multi-processor computer to incorporate the PowerPC 604 microprocessor developed by Apple, IBM and Motorola. Deliveries of the Harris Night Hawk 6200, with up to two PowerPC 604s, will begin in May.

The 6000 Series is the fifth generation of Night Hawk, says the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, company. Existing users will be able to upgrade their Night Hawks to the latest standard "...simply by exchanging processor and memory boards".

The Night Hawks are used widely in simulation and telemetry applications. Prices for the Night Hawk 6200 begin at $46,000 for a single-processor version, while upgrade prices start at $30,400.
