Hughes UK has won a £55 million ($90 million) order from the UK Ministry of Defence to provide the Royal Air Force with reconnaissance pods for its Panavia Tornados. The Reconnaissance Airborne Pod for Tornado programme requires Hughes UK and Hughes Danbury Optical Systems to deliver eight pods and two ground stations. At the heart of the pod is the DB-110 electro-optical/ infra-red dual-band sensor.
