International Aero Engines (IAE) is to supply the powerplants for 10 Airbus A321-200 aircraft to be delivered to China Northern Airlines. The aircraft will be powered by IAE V2500-A5 engines, in a deal valued at around $120 million. The first A321 is to be delivered in October next year. China Northern already operates the IAE V2500-D5 on its fleet of 13 Boeing MD-90aircraft (above). The China Northern order is part of a 30-aircraft deal for A320s and A321s placed by China Aviation Supplies Import and Export in 1997.
