India, Pakistan 'prepared for war'

Nuclear rivals India and Pakistan say they are both prepared for war over Kashmir, following a crisis meeting at the weekend that failed to resolve the escalating conflict in the Himalayan region.

On Saturday, India shot at a Pakistani surveillance aircraft which India says crossed its border hours after the unsuccessful talks ended.

The aircraft was detected flying about 2,400ft (800m) above the Jammu region at around 9:30pm local time.
