Small US business jet fractional ownership company JetOne says it is negotiating with a backer interested in taking the programme nationwide.
The Waterford, Michigan-based company, which began operations in January last year, has two used Cessna Citation IIs and two more pre-owned aircraft on order.
JetOne says it expects to have 20 aircraft in service by year-end, if negotiations with the unidentified backer are successful. The fleet is likely to comprise a mix of used Citation IIs and larger, longer-range Citation IIIs.
The company's programme is regional, limited to the US Midwest. A quarter share in a Citation II costs $695,000 and provides the part-owner with 200 flight hours a year at $1,200 an hour.
