A disturbing rise in the number of unruly passengers on commercial aircraft has opened a window of opportunity for British firm Percival Aviation (Hall 2/J14).
The company is coming to the aid of airlines with a specially-designed passenger restraint pack.
As well as 'quickcuffs', to gain compliance and control, the pack contains items such as webbing straps, tie wraps and tape to secure a rowdy passenger to his seat, thereby preventing injury to other passengers.
There are also witness forms, to obtain statements from nearby passengers and leaflets to remind cabin crew of the methods and techniques of passenger restraint.
The pack also comes with safety cutters, to free the restrained passenger quickly in the event of an emergency.
A company spokesman says: "It's a sad sign of the times, but there is now a growing need for this kind of passenger restraint pack."
