LET L-410 is flying to South America for demonstrations
Czech manufacturer LET has received Argentine and Brazilian certification for its L-410UVP-E20 19-passenger twin-turboprop, and says that approval in Chile is "imminent".
The firm's Opalocka, Florida-based distributor, AeroTec, has embarked on a Latin American demonstration tour with the aircraft, and will visit Argentina, Brazil, the Caribbean and Venezuela .
AeroTec says that 45 L-410s are now in service in Latin America, with operators in Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela. It plans to market the improved L-420, with Western avionics, following US certification which, AeroTec says, is in "the final stages".
It has added space at its Opalocka base for a spares warehouse and distribution centre, and has named Brazil's UTA/Quick Aviation as its local sales and service dealer.
