UK distributor NCMT (Hall 4, A5) is showing the latest in milling and grinding machine technology manufactured in Japan by Makino.
The MAG 4 is a revolutionary milling machine able to cut any structural aerospace part at speeds unheard of in the industry.
"The MAG 4 has a 60kw motor and uses a spindle capable of 30,000rpm. As other models average at around 15-20,000rpm this really is something special," says Dave Burley, NCMT marketing manager.
"MAG 4 uses linear motor technology and has a feed rate of 40m per minute which is phenomenally fast while maintaining a high level of accuracy."
The improved process significantly cuts down on cycle time. MAG 4 is currently being used at Airbus to machine rib cells for the A380.
