Diehl Raytheon Systeme, the new Raytheon joint venture with BGT majority owner Diehl, will concentrate on selling AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles in Europe, but may also exploit emerging missile markets in the Middle East. Headed by two managing directors - Mike Harrison of Raytheon and Helmut Schöpf of Diehl - the company will market older AIM-9L and AIM-9M variants to new NATO members, including the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, while Raytheon will market the newest variant, the AIM-9X. The new company will handle marketing support for the AMRAA Mmissile in Europe.
