Soren Stark has replaced Thomas Stuger as Lufthansa Technik's executive board member for technical operations, logistics and IT.
Stuger retired in December after more than 14 years on the maintenance provider's executive board.
Lufthansa Group chief Carsten Spohr describes Stuger as having had a "great influence" on LHT during his tenure.
Stark rejoins LHT from Lufthansa Cargo, where he has served as operations chief since 2016.
He had previously been responsible for LHT aircraft overhaul and logistics services.
In his new role, he will be accountable manager for LHT's European Aviation Safety Agency certifications.
