The US Federal Aviation Administration is proposing one new rule to update and consolidate technical, design and operational requirements for simulators and flight training devices. The new FAR airworthiness requirement Part 60 is designed to "ensure that users receive the best possible training in flight simulation devices that closely match the performance and handling characteristics of the aircraft being simulated", according to the FAA.
