Embraer delivered 21 commercial aircraft in the three months ended 31 March, one more than during the same period last year.

The deliveries comprised 19 E175s and two E190s, says the Brazilian manufacturer.

Embraer's firm order backlog stood at 492 commercial aircraft on 31 March, these made up of 267 E-Jet E2 family aircraft and 225 orders for the current generation.

The manufacturer expects to deliver between 105 and 110 commercial aircraft over the full course of 2016.

Service entry in 2018 is scheduled for the re-engined E2 family, which also features improved wings.
