US Airways chairman Stephen Wolf expressed optimism in London that the United States and the United Kingdom could be on the verge of an open-skies agreement.

However, he says if US-UK open-skies do not come about soon it is unlikely that they will appear for several years.

"It is my considered judgement that the governments of the United Kingdom and the US could be on the verge of

a historic breakthrough - an agreement that would create an open and competitive environment," he says.
