Russia’s Aviastar production plant has formally delivered Cuban carrier Cubana’s first Tupolev Tu-204-100CE freighter, after the jet landed at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport 2 August.

The Tu-204CE is part of an agreement with lessor Ilyushin Finance Company to supply two Tu-204 passenger aircraft and a freighter example to the carrier.

Cubana’s first passenger model is expected to be handed over at the Moscow Air Show later this month.

Ilyushin Finance has also provided Cubana with three Ilyushin Il-96-300 long-haul jets.

Aviastar manufactured the Tu-204CE at the Ulyanovsk production facility. The company is delivering another version of the aircraft, the Rolls-Royce-powered Tu-204-120CE, to Air China Cargo.
