Sukhoi Superjet 100 engine manufacturer PowerJet has disclosed that roll-out of the first example is planned to take place on 26 September, after delivering the first powerplant for the type.

The Franco-Russian joint venture is due to deliver its second SaM146 engine from its Rybinsk production facility at the end of August.

First flight of the Superjet is expected to take place in October. Under the Superjet certification programme PowerJet will produce 10 engines.

PowerJet says that customers have already placed firm orders for 160 engines, and Sukhoi is forecast to take 267 SaM146s between 2008 and 2010.
