RAYTHEON AIRCRAFT IS flight-testing the improved Hawker 800XP business-jet. Certification is planned for later this year, with the first delivery, to a North American customer, in the third quarter. Two aircraft are being used for development, a modified 800 for certification trials and a pre-series production 800XP for avionics tests. The 800XP has up-rated AlliedSignal TFE731 engines, improved aerodynamics, increased weight increases and upgraded systems.
