RICHTER FLUGZEUGBAU IS TO BEGIN SERIES production of its Delta Dart II two-seater, following its certification, expected in August.The aircraft, which is being flown on a temporary certificate with a 95kW (130hp) Hirth F 30 engine, is awaiting completion of noise tests before certification in the ultra-light class. The German company is now looking at alternative powerplants in the 50-65kW class. Westeregeln-based Richter is now building a production plant. It plans to build 20 aircraft this year and 100 in 1997.The all-composite, tandem two-seater has a large delta wing and foreplanes and is capable of flying 1,400km (7,600nm) at a 110kt (200km/h) cruise speed.
