Sony Computer Entertainment American has officially partnered with IFE Services to distribute the PlayStationPortable (PSP) to airlines.

Under terms of the agreement, UK-based IFE Services works with airlines to add the PSP, allowing passengers to watch television and movies and play the latest PlayStation games.

IFE Services says it has signed supplier agreements with six airlines, and "advanced discussions are ongoing with several more".

The PSP systems feature an extended battery life of 5.5 to 11h.

IFE Services supplies crew training and full logistical support for an airline's PSP roll-out, and says the PSP has full certification.

"As a veteran provider of in-flight entertainment, we know that many airline passengers are interested in playing full-scale games with impressive graphics, which the PSP delivers," says IFE Services CEO Mark Hogg.
