Magnet-maker Goudsmit UK is taking advantage of the electrification of aircraft to build its presence in the aerospace industry. The Belfast-based company designs, manufactures and supplies permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies, which it says are lower in weight than their predecessors.
In the cabin, that means opportunities for the company in the actuators of premium seat motors, furniture joints and switches. “Magnets are also used to reduce vibration in business class trays,” says business development executive Michael Barton.
The company is also promoting its expertise in logistics and supply chain work, Barton adds. “The management of suppliers on behalf of customers is a big part of our value proposition,” he says.
