Comac has started static load limit tests for the C919, focusing on cabin pressurisation load limits.

The Chinese manufacturer tested the narrowbody fuselage under maximum pressurisation conditions, marking the first ultimate load test for the C919 static strength test programme.

It adds that the tests, which were carried out in collaboration with the Aircraft Strength Research Institute of China and with guidance from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the European Aviation Safety Agency, showed good results and met expectations.

Comac is targeting to achieve certification and enter the C919 into service in the 2020-2021 period.
