The Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) has successfully performed a series of test flights on a US Air Force F-15 Eagle and a US Navy F/A-18 Hornet, following an 18-month development programme. The helmet system is made by Vision Systems International, a subsidiary of Elbit and Kaiser Aerospace. JHMCS projects targeting cues and aircraft parameters onto the pilot's visor, allowing him to aim missiles at targets off boresight. Initial deliveries are due in 2000, following more tests on other USAF and navy aircraft.
