Satellite-navigation and communications company Trimble's vice-president and chief technology officer, Ralph Eschenbach, has been appointed chairman of the US Federal Aviation Administration's research, engineering and development advisory committee. Eschenbach, who has been a member of the advisory committee since 1995, was formerly Trimble's vice-president of business development and vice-president of engineering, as well as navigation-group vice-president.
