The Lockheed Martin NF-16D variable-stability in-flight simulator test aircraft (VISTA) has joined the US Air Force Test Pilots School at Edwards AFB, California. The VISTA system allows the NF-16 to handle like other aircraft, giving trainee test pilots experience of a wide range of aircraft types, including delta-wing aircraft or those with novel control systems. It can also demonstrate the effect of changing parameters within a fly-by-wire system.
