Once again your World Air Forces directory (Flight International, 26 November-2 December) has proved to be most informative.

I am amazed that Mexico operates more then 60 different types of military aircraft. Rationalisation could offer considerable savings. If, as rumoured, Mexico has purchased four Northrop Grumman E-2Cs for the airborne early-warning role, together with the Embraer EMB-145 on order, they might then be better able to replace their 10 Northrop F-5s with a more effective fighter, such as the Lockheed Martin F-16.
