Aircraft lessor AWAS has entered an agreement with Chilean airline group LAN to purchase and lease back five Airbus A320 aircraft that the airline had previously purchased directly from the airframer.
AWAS has delivered the first of these aircraft, which has delivery slots in 2011 and 2012, to LAN.
"LAN is pleased to work with AWAS to facilitate the addition of five new, modern and fuel-efficient Airbus A320 aircraft into our growing fleet," said Roberto Alvo, LAN's senior VP for strategic planning and corporate development.
The carrier will use the aircraft to strengthen its regional network in South America.
