Hamilton Standard and Sumitomo Precision Products, whose business relationship goes back more than half a century, have teamed up to develop an advanced air conditioning system for the emerging 100-seat aircraft market.

The system will use Hamilton Standard's patented condensing cycle system, first introduced in the environmental control system the company supplies for the Boeing 777.

The system features a four-wheel air cycle refrigeration component which includes a fan, a compressor and two turbines.
