The Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), which will allow pilots to lock on and fire at enemy aircraft by simply pointing their head at the target, has been successfully demonstrated on two test aircraft in California. The JHMCS, which is a joint US Air Force, Navy, Boeing and Lockheed Martin research programme, was tested on a USAF Boeing F-15 and a USN F-18, marking the start of a 14-month flight test effort. Prime subcontractor on the JHMCS is Vision Systems.
