DaimlerChrysler Aero- space (Dasa) is to offer its AN/AAR-60 missile warning sensor in partnership with Hyundai to meet an emerging South Korean air requirement to equip combat aircraft.
The sensor is already to be integrated into the NH Industries NH90 multirole medium helicopter and will probably also be fitted in the Eurocopter Tiger, says Dasa. The South Korean deal would involve some production or integration work if the German sensor is selected.
AN/AAR-60 has already been qualified for Europe's Lockheed Martin F-16 operators, and the missile warning system sensor is also being proposed for the Danish pylon-integrated dispenser system requirement.
Other bidders competing to meet this requirement include Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Sanders.
