BAE Systems Avionics has been testing the Eurofighter Typhoon defensive aids subsystem (DASS)on an FR Aviation Dassault Falcon 20 business jet. Although the Falcon 20 installation is on underwing pylons, the pods are representative of the Typhoon's wingtip DASS installations. The system has detected and jammed multiple air- defence radar-tracking systems during trials at the RAF Spadeadam EW range in the UK, and the company says: "Performance exceeded our expectations." Flight tests are continuing in support of the Typhoon entry into service and Tranche 2 DASS development.
