Raytheon has secured a $768 million contract from the US Air Force to produce Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) for the US military as well as foreign partners.

The deal covers production lot 33 and will be completed in 28 February 2023, according to the US Defense Department’s contract award site.

A full 47% of the contract’s value is from over a dozen foreign customers for the weapon including Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

According to Raytheon, the weapon has undergone over 4,200 test firings and has scored ten air-to-air kills in its quarter century of service.
