South Korea will reissue its tender for a basic flight training helicopter to help train pilots for both the army and navy.

Seoul’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) plans to issue a new request for proposals on 2 October, according to a statement.

Seoul reportedly cancelled a previous tender for the 41 helicopter requirement owing to cost concerns. It is not clear if the new requirement will be for the same number of helicopters.

In the previous competition, Bell pitched the Bell 505, and Leonardo Helicopters the SW-4.
