WestJet lands new CFO

Vito Culmone has joined Calgary-based WestJet Airlines as its chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice-president for finance, joining the carrier's executive team. He fills a post that had been vacant since the retirement of Alexander (Sandy) Campbell.

In the interim, WestJet executives Janice Paget and Derek Payne have worked as acting CFOs. Culmone is new to aviation, but has 17 years experience in finance and business. He graduated from the University of Toronto and has spent 12 years with large Canadian brewery Molson Coors.
