Central European budget airline Wizz Air has ordered 20 Airbus A320s, for delivery between 2009 and 2011. It already operates nine leased A320s and last year ordered an additional 12 aircraft, scheduled for delivery in 2007 and 2008. The carrier also has options on 12 more A320s and aims to operate 53 of the type by 2012. Wizz Air chief executive Jozsef Varadi says the carrier is looking to expand its operations from central and eastern Europe to western Europe.
