Lufthansa Technik has ordered a CTT Cair humidifier to be installed in a VIP Boeing 747-8, having already installed the system in five wide and narrowbody aircraft.
Cair provides humidification of dry aircraft cabins without causing condensation, giving a relative humidity of around 20%, compared to 3-5% without. CTT says that this reduces dry air related problems such as fatigue, jet-lag, red eyes, dry skin and the spread of virus diseases.

Former Southwest Airlines executive Dave Harvey will become US charter aircraft provider Wheels Up’s chief commercial officer starting 20 May, an appointment coming as the company continues a broad restructuring.
Bombardier has disclosed that charter aircraft operator NetJets was the customer behind an order for 12 Challenger 3500 business jets landed by Bombardier last year.
Bombardier chief executive Eric Martel has largely ruled out the airframer developing a clean-sheet aircraft for at least the rest of the decade, saying competitive dynamics and technological advancements do not support such a move.
