Lufthansa introduced the first commercial, fully operational on-board internet service this week on Airbus A340 services from Munich to Los Angeles using Connexion by Boeing and the airline's own free FlyNet service. The carrier, along with British Airways, had previously run trials. The system has been installed on five A340-300s, and by early 2006 the airline's entire long-haul fleet should be equipped. The company says the service is priced at $9.95 for 30min and ¢25 for every minute after that, or $29.95 for the entire flight.
