Lebanon's Trans Mediterranean Airways (TMA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Iraqi Airways for co-operation on cargo and maintenance activities. TMA will provide freight services to Iraq and create a transit base at Beirut International Airport. It is offering to lease Iraqi Airways its Boeing 707 freighters so that the Baghdad-based airline can resume operations if United Nations sanctions on Iraq are lifted.
