The ambitious 57km jet fuel pipeline project which will link Dubai International Airport to Jebel Ali Free Zone will be ready to pump fuel by the end of November.

Owner and operator Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) says pressure testing with water is under way.

The designers say the pipeline is designed to meet Dubai's aviation fuel requirements well into the 21st century through its link into the new fuel farm at the airport.

The pipeline features a pumping system that can handle 40,000 barrels (7.25 million litres) of jet fuel a day - more than the airport's projected requirements up to 2010.
