Sir - The article "Safety-resource management" (Flight International, 16-22 August, P33) identifies the usefulness of crew-resource management (CRM).
We have introduced CRM at the ab initio stage of training on our aviation degree course. The first solo is now the first flight in command. In addition, we use the phrase "colleague resource management", to best describe the interaction between a pilot in a single-seat aircraft and, for instance, air-traffic control.
