Honeywell has won a contract to supply reaction wheel assemblies (RWA) to Japan for the Solar B space mission to study the sun. The company will supply Japan's Institute of Space and Astronautical Science with one engineering model and four HR14 RWAs for the spacecraft, to be launched in 2005. The RWAs will be used to stabilise, position and control the spacecraft, which will use ultraviolet and X-ray instruments to study the interaction between the sun's magnetic field and its corona.
