Airbus
At Airbus, we are proud to join Pratt & Whitney in celebrating its momentous 100th anniversary, a milestone that resonates deeply with our own pioneering history. Our partnership began at the inception of Airbus, with the Pratt & Whitney engines powering our A300 and A310 aircraft. These achievements are symbolic of our decades-long commitment to aerospace innovation.
This strong foundation has continued through key Airbus programmes, including our A320 and A220 families. Our collaborative efforts resulted in major engine developments, including the revolutionary Geared Turbofan (GTF) and the promising GTF Advantage.
Personally, I have very fond memories of the collaboration with the team at Pratt & Whitney, starting with my very first deal which was for Pan Am and involved A320s and A310s powered respectively by IAE and by PW engines; and continuing with the tutoring I received in East Hartford into understanding the basics of jet engines. The relationship with Pratt & Whitney colleagues has been growing ever since.
As one of our key engine suppliers, Pratt & Whitney’s contribution has been critical to our ability to deliver high-performing, fuel-efficient aircraft to customers worldwide, notably inspiring the most successful A320neo.
As Pratt & Whitney enters its next century, our partnership will continue to drive a more digital, connected and sustainable future for aerospace, providing customers with competitive, reliable aircraft for generations to come.

Pratt & Whitney has been an important part of my long commercial aviation heritage.
Since the age of 12 in Europe, when I first flew an R2800-CB16 powered Douglas DC6, my first owned jet, a JT3D powered Douglas DC-8, the hundreds of PW 4000 & 2000 engines that powered our 767, A330s and 757s, the more than 1000 V2500s, and most recently the mega orders for GTF engines powering A321s and A220s, P&W has been by my side along this illustrious aviation journey.
Congratulations and I salute the next 100 years that lies ahead.

Air Tractor
Congratulations to Pratt & Whitney on an extraordinary milestone – 100 years of producing the world’s finest aircraft powerplants.
At Air Tractor, we are proud to celebrate more than 50 years of partnership with Pratt & Whitney. In our early days of agricultural aircraft production, we relied on P&W R-1340 and R-985 engines to power our planes. As both our companies grew, so did the capabilities of our aircraft, moving to the powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engines.
Over the decades, the market’s demand for greater performance has only increased – and the PT6A engines installed in Air Tractor aircraft have consistently delivered, offering dependable power in the many demanding environments our airplanes are flown in.
Together, we’ve set a new standard for reliability, helping to create the most productive agricultural and firefighting aircraft ever manufactured. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue building on this legacy, working side by side to help feed and protect the world.
Congratulations to everyone at Pratt & Whitney – here’s to the next 100 years!

Delta Air Lines
It’s fitting that Delta and Pratt & Whitney are both celebrating our 100th anniversaries this year. We’ve been partners since the 1930s, a relationship that has spanned most of the past century of flight. Over the years, we’ve welcomed many Pratt & Whitney-powered aircraft into our fleet, including the DC-8, DC-9, MD-80 and our iconic “Queen of the Skies” 747-400. Today, Pratt & Whitney engines power many of our 757, 767, A330, A220 and A320neo aircraft, helping Delta serve more than 200 million customers each year as we connect the world.
In 2019, Delta TechOps joined the GTF Engine network as an MRO provider for the PW1500G and PW1100G engines that service the A220 and A320neo aircraft families. The strength of this partnership and customer demand led Delta to invest in opening a 155,000sq ft state-of-the-art facility dedicated to servicing next-gen engines.
This relationship stands the test of time thanks to our common focus: a commitment to innovation and a passion for delivering outstanding service to our customers. Congratulations to Pratt & Whitney on this incredible milestone, and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership in the years ahead.

Philippine Airlines
Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) historical ties with Pratt & Whitney date back to the very beginning of our operations in 1941. Pratt & Whitney powered our Beechcraft 18 for the maiden flight to Baguio, the Douglas DC-3s after the war, and the Douglas DC-4, giving PAL the distinction of being the first Asian airline to cross the Pacific.
Pratt & Whitney also carried the Philippines into the jet age in the early 1960s, revolutionizing travel for Filipinos and enhancing global connectivity.
As we near 85 years of service, Pratt & Whitney continues to support PAL with the Airbus A321neo and the Dash 8 fleet, which remain vital to our mission of connecting the Philippines and the world. Our partnership has been instrumental in our journey, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and innovation.

Gen (Ret) Mark Kelly (USAF)
I was incredibly fortunate to fly high-performance aircraft for 38 years in the US Air Force. Across those 38 years, most of my flying assignments and combat deployments involved operating F-15Es powered by F100-PW-220 and -229 engines. Fighter operations are inherently complex as you must assess the threat, target vulnerability, the weather etc. You must coordinate the aerial refueling tanker plan, deconfliction with other aircraft and other weapons flying through the air and you often need to coordinate with teammates on the ground. It gets busy and there is no spare bandwidth to deal with an engine issue. While operating Pratt & Whitney engines from a captain to general, in theF-15E and then in the F-16 and F-35, I never had a propulsion issue. Never.
The Pratt & Whitney logo includes an Eagle and the words “Dependable Engines”. When you’re executing complex operations far from home – working to ensure that you get yourself and your entire team home – those words “Dependable Engines” takes on a significance that no fighter pilot ever takes for granted.
Lt Gen (Ret) Steve Shepro (USAF)
It was a great privilege to fly iconic aircraft for 35 years in the U.S. Air Force, with exceptional performance powered by Pratt & Whitney engines. My extensive operational and combat flight hours in US and allied aircraft systems – from F100-powered F-16 fighters to PT6-powered special ops H-1Ns – demanded dependable engines to penetrate, persist, and return safely and successfully. Thanks to Pratt & Whitney propulsion, my missions and those of my teams were consistently on target. The engines were ready, effective and always came back without issue.
It is a tremendous achievement to build a 100-year reputation of “Dependable Engines” that ushered in 4th generation, owned 5th generation and trailblazed the first 6th generation combat aircraft – while providing the bulwark of primary training, air mobility, strategic deterrence and modern refueling aircraft. We all appreciate that for over a century, Pratt & Whitney has consistently assured aircrew safety and the edge to win. We depend upon that edge now more than ever.
United Airlines
On behalf of the entire United family, I’m proud to extend our congratulations to Pratt & Whitney on an extraordinary milestone – 100 years of innovation, excellence, and engineering leadership. Pratt & Whitney engines have powered our aircraft for generations, helping us connect millions of people to places in nearly every corner of the globe.
As the world’s largest airline, United relies on the highest performing engines to ensure our customers enjoy a safe, dependable, and comfortable travel experience when they fly with us. Our longstanding relationship with Pratt & Whitney helps ensure we meet – and exceed – their expectations.
From the introduction of the JT8D engines that powered our early Boeing 727s and 737s for decades, to today’s cutting-edge GTF engines driving a more sustainable future, Pratt & Whitney has been instrumental in shaping our journey. Today, their engines power nearly 300 aircraft in our fleet, from narrowbodies that serve our domestic network to widebody airliners that span continents and cross oceans. And as we look to the next century of flight, United remains committed to further expanding the world alongside our colleagues at Pratt & Whitney.
Again, congratulations on your remarkable achievement.
