UNITED AIRLINES HAS been fined A$15,000 ($11,000) for violating Sydney's new noise-limiting flight-paths, after a United Boeing 747-400 diverged 2km (1nm) off a designated corridor in April, also crossing the approach path of another runway.
AirServices Australia says that it is "...investigating, with a view to prosecution, a further 43 deviations from the flight corridors for which legitimate reasons are not apparent". These include an incident in which, after a take-off from Runway 16 Right, an Air France 747 allegedly turned left across the track of a Qantas 737 departing from Runway 16 Left.
