Bell Helicopter has signed deals with new and existing customers at the inaugural Rotorcraft Asia event.

Indonesia's Air Pacific Utama has become the first Indonesia customer to order the Bell 407GXP, says the US manufacturer. In addition, it is the first Indonesian customer for Bell's Customer Advantage Plan (CAP), which is designed to support the daily operations of customers.

"The plans offer a fixed cost per flight hour service option that protects customers’ budgets and their aircraft and increases aircraft availability at rates competitive to published direct maintenance costs," says Bell.

It adds that the plan also helps the residual value of the aircraft.

In addition, Bell announced two deals on the Indian subcontinent.

Bangladesh's Meghna Aviation signed a purchase agreement for a Bell 429, which will serve the corporate, leisure, and utility charter missions. This adds to the company's Bell 407GX.

Bell also announced that India's Tata Steel has purchased a second Bell 429 to support its steel production activities. The helicopter will be based in eastern India, providing transport to steel plants and mines.

“We see the potential for an ever-increasing demand for Bell Helicopter products in India, a country boasting one of the world’s fastest-growing economies with an expanding industrial footprint,” says Bell Asia-Pacific managing director Sameer Rehman.
